Nice real world build.
But I def think it would have made another 10-15 with red plug wires.
Dart copy heads?
Btw, do you find those springs show noticeably more load than advertised?

Somewhat handy with a die grinder.

Yea, those wires... lol..
Yes, ProHeader straight plug with CNC program
Yes, lots more load. But I usually see a big drop after cycle. I'm going to pull one off and bench test it. These went in at 275@1.950 and 610@1.290. I will post that up also.
Re: Pump Gas 91 octane 385 SBC
Years ago I used to use quite a few k-1100’s for the mild roller stuff.
They always tested really close to spec, and would hardly lose anything, even after quite a bit of use(if not being run into any serious float).
Then one day, I bought another set...... and nothing about them was the same.
They loads were way high, and they didn’t look the same at all(different color material, number of coils, etc)
I thought the may have been mislabeled 1150’s, but the open load was a little lite.
I bought them to replace a set from some heads I was freshening, and ended up not using them. The ootb loads were quite a bit higher than I wanted, and I wasn’t sure if they’d settle back to the spec quickly or not.
I put some Isky 9315’s on instead....... which are very close to what the “old” k-1100’s were.

For even more discussion.
Jones cam program, and actual Erson that was in it. Also notice the performance box!

That’s pretty close to spec.
In theory they would be 256@1.950/606@1.290.
Spec is 531lb/in, your observed is 537.8lb/in.

Re: Pump Gas 91 octane 385 SBC
Got to wonder how much more power this pump gas friendly street capable engine would make with a Tunnel Ram and 2x 750 carbs. And then how much more if then the cam was optimimized for best power with the tunnel ram. I suggest it will get to or very near 600bhp all while being pump gas friendly.
Nice build.
Nice build.

Re: Pump Gas 91 octane 385 SBC
Would it make more torque at a lower rpm with a 200-210 runner? Also how much power would it lose with smaller heads? Nice build
Re: Pump Gas 91 octane 385 SBC
One could ask the same about the Jones cam program 108 vs the engines 110 but without testing the 10 "what if''s, no one will ever know. The combo clearly makes good power and if that is the power you are seeking he just put it on paper for you in a provable form.econo racer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:23 am Would it make more torque at a lower rpm with a 200-210 runner? Pull starts 4000 and its at 438LBS already as low as that, then peak is 495@4900 ....econo racer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:23 am Would it make more torque at a lower rpm with a 200-210 runner? Also how much power would it lose with smaller heads? Nice build
I cant see you wanting it much lower than that...
Re: Pump Gas 91 octane 385 SBC

Re: Pump Gas 91 octane 385 SBC
The engine already had these heads, and I had a program.econo racer wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2019 12:23 am Would it make more torque at a lower rpm with a 200-210 runner? Also how much power would it lose with smaller heads? Nice build
If it would have been a fresh build, I would have used my 205cc port.
I built a 4.155 x 3.500 drag engine with a set and it made great power on the same dyno.
