Tunnel Ram BBC 565 Dyno run

Post by WeingartnerRacing »

This is actually my personal engine that is going in my drag car. I will give a rundown but I did have a real question does anybody make a throttle cable bracket that fits this new Edelbrock tunnel Ram. Here is the rundown.

565
4.60x4.25
Scat standard weight 4340crank
Molnar h beam rods
Je 15 to 1 Pistons
Brodix 3xtra oval port heads I ported with 2.375/1.85 steel valves 5/16 stem intake valves. 55 degree seats, 395cc with attached .125 spacer plates. I did have brodix move the pushrod slots over so I had more room to port. I also had them put in the bigger 3xta 363 exhaust port.(it was as cast) Flowed 460cfm on the Saenz d680 and upper 470s if I remember on the Superflow 750
Newer Edelbrock Tunnel ram
Comp .937/.848 275/288 @0.050 112 LSA installed at 110 standard core
Jesel belt drive
.904 Morel lifters
T and D shaft rockers 1.8/1.75
Holley Gen 3 1050 carbs
Wilson shear plates
Aeromotive vac pump. No idea what it pulled never checked but these pumps typically don't pull much.

It made pretty good power. We dynod it on Renegade 120plus nitrous fuel because that's all we had. Because of this I never touched the carbs from what they were right out of the box. Not one single jet. I think I could have made more power if I did but it would not have matched the fuel I really plan to use. This is the pull before the last one. This one made 1108 the last one made 1118 but we cooled the engine to do it.

In the end 1118@7500rpm 842tq@6200rpm

I have the linkage. I’m talking about the bracket that holds the throttle cable.

is that the #7085 tunnel ram ? Did you do any porting on it ? Very nice work. I have a Weiand T-ram and i just fabricated the bracket you mentioned. I could post a picture if you want. Its not to high tech.
Tunnel rams are making a comeback !!!
