This is just an ol' basic 434 SBC. There is nothing world class about it. Why is it so hard to believe that it will run 5.80's?

I've seen you put down some impressive numbers in one or two of your projects for sure.

I have no idea what gear is under the truck. Based on experience and feel during the run though, I'd say it's either a 4.56 or a 4.88.

The converter is an 8" PTC that flashes at 6000 rpm more or less, and it has 'Glide transmission.

Shift at 7000, cross at 7000.

5.80's @ 3100 lbs with engine listed. Is what brings things into question
