Volvo marine diesel..
I have a customer with a 6 cylinder Volvo diesel marine engine. Engine is labeled as KAMD 42P-A . From sometime in the late 80s. He needs the wrist pin bushings but Volvo says bushings are obsolete and no longer available. But you can buy a connecting rod for $2000 each. Doesn't sound right to me but any clue as to where to get bushings. Thanks

When I enter the model number in the picture it claims the bushing is number 12. Down in the price section number 12 doesn't exist. The bushing exist for model kamd42 but not kamd42p-a. I don't know what the difference is.

I’d call them
I also found what looks to be a valid pay number in marine parts Europe
After buying weird parts for 50 years I’m skeptical
about all parts managers and techs altruism, including me!

Re: Volvo marine diesel..
I just browsed same marineparts catalog and same connecting rod is used allmost all those volvo diesels and bushings to other engine codes are available 50 eur ~ 50 $ per piece. I do not know what could be so different at the kamd42p-a bushing?

I don't know what could be different. I can't find any dimensions on the bushing available to see if it fits the rod I have. I found one of those bushings on eBay and it's not the same shape. The rod I have has the bushing similar to a Caterpillar bushing that narrows at the top. The bushing available doesn't do that.
