Thanks, Walter. Good thing I wasn't handicapping this like a horse race; I'd lost big bucks. Who'da thunk a Ford FE would win it and Kaase's BBC would be behind the FE and a SBF? And there's a BBF 385 scoring lower than a Y-block and two FEs. And what's with not a single BBM or SBM competing? No Olds, Buick or Cads? The Buick guys are always claiming "stock for stock, the Buick can run with any of them."

Personally, I think they should do something like this class again with O.E.M. heads but, allow switching years on different engine sizes, like most backyard enthusiasts would do. (Even offset ground cranks and such).

It said on the hotrod site he was down 60-70hp down from pre contest testing.........just curious if something went a miss.
I like those Jesel rockers he had on the BBC.......also expensive!

That immediately makes me think ford 400C with 4V iron heads.

I wonder if any Buicks entered but didn't get picked? I know an Olds did
Guess it's more interesting to have 5 fords and 6 chevies.

Hey Bob, no i havnt, do you have a link. Was it a typical stroker 351 or a 400 block? Im guessing stroker?

Using a factory 2 bolt pillow clevo block with factory cast iron heads,flat tappet cam just made an impressive 603 ft lbs and 759 hp on pump gas

Very impressive to say least. The early pro stock guys like Glidden were making this amount of hp. If he did this with no eh plate and pump gas thats very impressive.

Geoff Mummert used a set of 1965 289 base model 2v heads with a very well refined cnc porting program run on them.
