Reversion improvements

Post by The Iron Icon »

Hi all, was wondering what most of you are seeing for reversion in your intake and exhaust ports. Always heard that they flow the same or better In reverse. Still not much experience flowing backwards so was wondering what everyone had for numbers be it a sbc head or sbf etc etc

I've been thinking about a collector that is divided inside in 4 equal parts , make a divider horizontal and vertical , and angle each exit back at different lengths for each of the 4 divisions in an oval shape to spread the release of the exhaust pulse

Wouldn't that act the same as staggered length primaries? (which David Vizard reported on to substantial advantage in his revised BBC book)
Also, Smokey built a system with such dividers in a ~ 4" pipe, as the downstream half of the primaries.

The best way to deal with reversion is to always have the Exh system generating some level of negative pressure in the cylinder/ chamber.
It does not take much as its all relative !
Even having for example a plus 12 psi in the cylinder, that 12 psi will still be seen as a negative if atmospheric is plus 14.7 psi for example!
You can cut a man's tongue from his mouth, but that does not mean he’s a liar, it just shows that you fear the truth he might speak about you!
