Information on Goodson tool

Post by Moose32 »

Hey Guys,

I got this Goodson tool in a lot I bought from a Machine Shop auction. I'm not sure what it does, although once someone tells me what it does, I'll surely have a "well yea" moment. See attached photo, Thanks

I looked through the Goodson catalog and did not see anything like it. I would call them and get their tech guys e-mail and send a pic to him.

Old but still funny. Seriously though, it does look like a radius bending jig for small round bar stock. I've used one sort of like that but there was a handle with it. If it isn't that, it sure looks a lot like one.

I'd believe Goodson made the sticker, but I don't think that's where the sticker was supposed to be stuck.

You get a sticker like that on every reamer, ect.

Looks like the jig used to bend small diameter steel tubing to make the frames for lexan door windows on a drag car.

Like has been said probably just a Goodson sticker but not a Goodson fixture.

I made a fixture that kinda-sorta-maybe looks like that; I use it on the mill to narrow connecting rod big ends. But I don't think that's what the tool in the picture is for. Looks like someone spent some time making it, though.
