PRO-CAM FUEL PUMP

Post by shiftbyear »

Has anyone used the Pro-Cam fuel pumps? Looking to purchase one for a street/strip BBC. I'm wondering if they are still in business? Having trouble locating their #9370 pump.

I’ve not had any issues for 10 something years.
I buy new ones and sell the old ones every five years in a circle track application.
Might last forever on the street.

Scroll down for the BBC options.

Just a quick follow-up. I call Pro-Cam today, they are redesigning their fuel pumps. The new ones will be available in early 2020. They are changing the lower diaphragm section from casting to billet.

I feel like the biggest issue is putting the case back together. Following the specific instruction in the web site about pulling the lever about half way down before sniffing up the bolts prevents the diaphragm from stretching or tearing in use.
Also, the seal that hold the oil in the block is delicate so careful with that.
Lastly, not overnighting the case screws and warping the bottom goes a long way to longitivtiy.
Just doing these things I’ve not had one fail. Yet.

I’m not so sure these things were designed to be turned 9000+ rpms either. That seems like a lot on the valves.
If I go more than 7200, I’d prolly go belt driven pump for the added pressure control and volume. But that’s just me
