Lots of cams available for those engines unfortunately most are for boosted applications. Dirt or pavement? Some sanctioning bodies allow vvt some don’t, also around here on the dirt several tracks check engine vacuum at idle and it’s not stated in their rules just kinda a surprise check. Some work in the tune I’ve been circumvent this issue locally on my cam ex ecotec motors. I’m not sure that there were many variants on those heads, I put together a handful of turboed ones years back. I know they like a good valve job, pay attention to bore concentricity on those open deck engines as well
