6.250 Rod Suppliers

Post by ProPower engines »

Hey guys
Anyone have any luck finding off the shelf 6.250 honda journal .927 pin rods these days.
Looking at Crower CP Carrillo and Pankel currently.
Don't seem to find anyone that is making them other then customs which is fine but may need more then 1 set
and the delay for customs at this time of year is 6 weeks +

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated

Dave

That's what I was finding as well. While they have been used for years in other big league racing they seem to
be no longer as popular as they were many years ago.
All the large manufactures will do customs but I have some older and much heavier Carrillo rods from an old cup project
but it looks like they will have to get made special for this build.

We will see what tomorrow brings. :D

Thanks guys

Funny I called and chatted with them about it but they were not offering it.
I will have to call again and see about that part number and see what they can do.

Thanks for the tip =D>

Ominous that Google turns up a total of one good link for that p.n., and it's not Eagle. My guess is it's been discontinued.

Look at the Pankl, Carrillo and Lentz NASCAR rods on fleabay. Usually a smaller small end but perhaps they could be machined? Usually $125.00 or less. I have two sets waiting for a home.

Cost was not really a concern for this deal as the crank combo uses the honda big end size but all the rods are
sm blk chevy based because of length.

I did contact Pankel but they own Carrillo so they just put me onto them. Since they offered me a dealer package
I decided to just do that and be done with it since I am in Canada. It seemed too easy but it made sense to do it as
I use pistons and other rod combos in this quality for other builds.

But the cost of the rods with the bolt upgrade are not really bad at this point anyway and they are not really backed up with pre season big league bulk rod set order's for the cup guys.

But I would like some info on the rod sets you do have for some more budgeted builds I am doing in the next couple months
and if they are suitable well they will be less worry some then eagle or scat.

Shoot me a PM with your email and contact number and we will chat.
