Cam lobes and lifters

Post by Matt80 »

Hello, in Japanese DOHC engines are came lobes supposed to be perfectly in axe with middle of lifters, or is there any out of axiality to make the lifter to turn when pushed down? Thanks

Normally, with the overhead "bucket" type followers, there's no taper on the lobes, and no crown on the bucket lifters. To get the buckets to rotate, they offset the centerline of the lobe, off the centerline of the bucket.
