the truss structures in the interior of the rod are curved (pre-buckled), yet the edges are straight.
seems like it should be the other way around. or, Am I missing something?

A totally bogus demonstration of 3-D printing.

IF someone found a way to make CF endure cyclic shock loading you would never design with this open spidery lattice.

I watched a set of those cause a 25 car pileup at our local 1/2 mi. asphalt. Car leading the pack ruptured the crankcase in the apex of 3-4 on the first lap when the fellas were at full enthusiasum and the result was only about a half-dozen cars were available for the restart after the cleanup.
