Very interesting on the offset rods. Questions: are the bearings centered under the piston though? Is the bearing length such offsetting them further to the center would have required reducing bearing length? With short enough bearings, one could add to the outside cheek and reduce the inside cheek while putting the beam and bearing more under the piston center point.
How do aftermarket I-beam vs H-beam rods fare with that offset?
Another thought is what rpms do those engines see at what stroke?
Can you overbore them stock blocks with some offset such that the piston is more on top of the rod?
