Morel 4602 hydros
Hi guys, i want help , i assembling a 406 sbc and might have an issue with the tall body 4602 morel lifters. it is very Close from the oilband to the edge of lifter bore at full lift , when i measure its like .175" ( 4.5 mm) until the lifter is "out of the bore" sort of speak ,, the camlift is: 577" int / 555" exh. what is your experience , i am grateful for all inputs guys.
Re: Morel 4602 hydros
Didnt have any issues on my shp block using them to .400 lobe lift .640 at valve but the shp has taller lifter bores hence the need for the taller lifter body +.300. But my understanding is the lifter body itself isnt extended but just the top part where the tie bar is to allow it to work in tall lifter bore blocks (oem roller stuff). I never measured how close the band was on my block to the top at max lift tho
Re: Morel 4602 hydros
it is an non-roller block from start, #509 2-bolt , , i read tread some years ago in this matter, can find that now , that some guy was experience the same thing . and yes a smallbase cam would get me a bit more distance. i was thinking some of you might seen&think the same thing

No matter what you using for a cam whether its .300 lobe or a .500 lobe and max lift the lifters will be at the same height the bigger cam the lifter will be lower when its on the base circle.
