Oval track exhaust

Post by ssregal39 »

Looking for some thoughts on oval track exhaust.
Dirt sportsman. 355, angle milled vortecs 12:1, 4412 on a 2116. Turn 7400-7600.
I run Howe tri y crossovers with 3.5" collectors and tail pipes have to exit behind driver.
The options I have: 3.5" x pipe, 3.5" y with 5" exit or duals. Thinking about single 3.5 don't know if that's big enough?
Also, thinking about a muffler. Mostly because one track I race has us use raceievers which doesn't let me wear proper ear plugs. Don't like going deaf lol.
Thanks in advance!

I can not attest as to which one will make more power but, I can say that whichever one produces a power curve which makes the driver of the car more comfortable driving it, will go faster around the track.

The 5" may be a little extreme?

That's what I was thinking.
I'm kind of leaning towards a single 3.5" ( really guessing) but I think it would be ok?
