Hi!
Been test- assembling a New 302 SBF stroker tha last two weeks: Finding pushrodlengths, pistob to valve contact etc.
So then I had to install the engine plate in order to get the beltdrive in postition... and then I grabben the newly aquired vacuum pump and drive mandrel to check fitment.
On the mandrel, a Moroso- piece, BTW, I spy the inner flange and it has a Nice radius. Much like where the crank snout meets the no.1 main bearing fillet. The crnak gir has a matching radius on the inner to meet the radius on the crank.
Stacking the pulleys and spacers on the mandrel, I spot one of the pulleys, Gilmer type, does have a radius cut into it, none of the others.
So- does that Gilmer pulley has to come on first, as it matches the radius on the mandrel?
The instructions don't say much... Only that you can stack & shim to cover Your needs.

Re: Mandrel drive nubie
Aftermarket stuff that DOESN'T need some finessing seems to be a rarity.
Then again, having the drive closest to it's bearing, without a lot of overhang, would be their preference.
