What is the rest of the build?/
What crank are you going to run?? There are some better then others for boosted applications depending on stroke.

Ok, just bought Eaton M122. Unaware of Steigmeier porting performance increase. Is the trick cam wise, to limit overlap and late exhaust closing?
I have forged/coated pistons and ARP rod bolts. Aarington says 650hp. is about "it" for reliability. Custom cam be wise ?
Thanks, Art.

You can get a better cam option but like all boosted cams the over lap is decreased.
The VVT is not recommended. Its easier to tune without it.
Dodge does not use the VVY on the boosted engines like the hell cat for a reason. Its too hard to get the tune right.
Not saying it can't be done but there are so many unknown's with the VVT active.
As time goes on there will be some software to use it but it seems the best power is without it.

M122 has intercooler underneath. E 85 may be the fuel. Most efficient liquid through intercooler ?

Just for fun check out the 6.1 stock cam spec's.
We have used that 6.1Lt factory cam in several builds with very good improvements in power.
Its bigger then the stock 5.7 but not crazy on the overlap.

Ok, and maybe 2 deg. +/- advanced to close exhaust sooner ?

Check PTV clearance when you do

The other option is use the hellcat cam.
It is boosted already and the VVT etc is not applicable in that engine but it should get you in the 600 range
with the boost level you considering .
Look at the spec's compared to the 6lt cam options. But the MDS and VVT delete will make it easier to tune.
Also beware of the cam timing marks they are not correct in some manuals causing bent push rods or valves on 1st crank up.

Seen 1 guy do it 3 times in a row ](*,) before he checked the timing mark orientation to find where it was wrong.
