Help finding air filter, by dimensions

Post by turbo camino »

I need to find a filter to fit in an existing airbox...

4" clamp-on
max 6" round
max 8" long

It can be conical, I guess, though it doesn't have to be. I'd prefer cylindrical.

I did find a WIX filter, #42743, 6" round x 7.8" long, and 4" inlet, but it's slip-on, no clamp flange. I could use it if there's nothing better but it would be pretty janky for this application.

And no, a 'drop-in' replacement filter won't work here, the stock MAF adapter into the filter is only 3.25", which is the part I'm eliminating.

K&N has a find a filter by dimension function for every shape. if they make it, there is a stock replacement I presume and they list vehicle and crossover applications. Should help. https://www.knfilters.com/dimsearch/index/

Here's a 2012 Fram dimensional catalog. You might find some appropriate size and then search for availability or equivalents in other brands.
