ok, mine is just in the oil control ring. Not sure if that hurts oil consumption.

Shouldn't....the second ring is the primary oil control ring, not the oil rings themselves.....

Alloy steel self supporting oil ring, like an old cast one piece oil ring, but suitably re-designed

Maybe like you'd wrap an I - Beam around a circular former after cross drilling ...... but as a production job

Cost a fortune initially, but if put into limited production maybe not so ...... dedicated machine to punch, form and roll to near net shape with nominal external finishing ....... usual cost / benefit analysis bean counting exercise .......

A similar cast nodular ring may work but if you started having come backs the whole thing would be dead in the water forever

Added bonus would enable you to move the other rings down for, say, turbo apps

If it's a N/A application could you put the piston .060 out the deck with a .100 Cometic gasket. That would give you a little more room to fit the ring pack. I've done this on antique pull tractor builds to add a little more stroke.

Are you serious Colo.Racer ? The oil rings remove "MOST" of the oil from the cyl. walls, and the Napier 2nd ring wipes most of what is left behind after the oil ring's effort. Do i have this about right Mark O ( and or) Piston Guy

If it were the other way around we'd put the oil drainback holes in the third land.

I'd do that with some of my customers in a custom application. For the average guy that buys a stroker kit.....not a chance.

It's hard enough getting them to put the oil rail supports in.
