454 engine noise

I have a 454 with a rotating chirping noise inside the motor . It takes about 4 minutes to show up when starting ! Motor is a fresh rebuild ! The noise can be heard in the intake , heads an block area very pronounced ! Any body come a cross this before need insight. Thanks

I’ve experienced a “chirping “ engine upon disassembly show major main bearing damage. Roller lifters, rockers etc can all present with that noise. Pretty good chance you’re going back inside to investigate.

I've heard roller lifters make that noise, can bearings make that noise, thrust bearing.. And I've also heard exhaust make that noise.

My advice, pull the filter, cut it. Check the lash etc.

Is it crank speed or cam speed? Believe it or not, I've personally heard valve stem seals make that noise, but obviously cam speed.

Vacuum leak under carburetor sometimes sounds like a chirp. Check carb to manifold gaskets.
