Dart Pro-1 230 CNC Heads

Post by 1Azgerman »

Long time lurker and now new member here my question is I just picked up a set of Dart Pro -1 heads for my 434, I currently run a set of Harland Sharp 1.6 rockers on the heads that are on the engine now. When I change over to the Dart heads I would like to run the Harland Sharp rockers. Will I need an off set intake rocker arm with the dart heads. This is a track car only I spend the engine to 7200 rpm.
Thanks for you input !

I have a set of 215 pro-1 cylinder heads
They have 60-40 valve spacing
I run a 0.300" offset intake rocker
I am using a set of jesel sportsman rockers
I have used offset lifter and also a non offset lifter.
I am assuming the 230 cylinder head would require a offset rocker on the intake, not sure about the exhaust.

Steve , I can't say what you get down under is different than here in the states but pro 1's are not 60/40 valve spacing . the exhaust centerline is moved .030 away from the intake and the stud spacing and placement is still std sbc as from GM . I have and Dart stud girdle bought directly from Dart for Pro1 Heads and it fits right on my GM 292 turbo heads and my W/P sportsman II heads . I do have a set of Dart 220 race series heads that are 60/40 offset that need .250 offset intake and no offset exhaust .And those are the only 60/40 heads Dart made. I was able to make .150 offset intake rockers work by using .150 offset lifters on the intake and doing a little grinding in the pushrod area . Standard sbc straight rockers should fit Pro1 heads with no offset. I My be wrong it would not be the first time. Dan

Maybe I am incorrect,
I do remember that when I got my jesel rockers there was no way the intake rocker would clear,so at the time I had to order. 300" offset on the intake as that was all that was available at the time, but maybe the confusion on my part is because I was using a 3/8" pushrod, I will review and I apologise for the wrong information,
Thanks Dan for the clarification

Thanks for the replies men, once I get the heads bolted on to the block I will see which will work best. All my lifters are centered non are off set.
