Re: SBC timing issue

Hey guys. I'm here to eat this crow, err I mean report on my progress. Last week I pulled the timing cover & pan and my buddy
from the machine shop came over and put the degree wheel on it and found +4 was closer to +5 but we went with it. Reinstalled
covers ect and set timing to start with minimal kick back, this turned out to be 22*. Checked mech advance @ about 20*. Removed
dizzy and found plastic stop for advance worn, fab new metal stop and lucked into 13*. So 22* @ idle 36* @ 3000 plugged in
manifold vac and got 30* at idle with 8 in vac. Motor starts well, picked up some low end and seems to pull well to 6200 limit.

All in all I guess it runs ok, I mean it'll break loose in high gear and whatnot but it seems kinda lackluster. Maybe I expected
too much. I suspect I'll save my pennies and see what Dr Jones can fix me up with. Thanks again to everyone for all the help.
