LS 7deg Locks
Looking to use PAC R655 steel retainers with a 5/16 valve that has standard square groove. Pac lists the retainer as being compatible with LS 7 deg locks. Will this work?

It fits ... I can't say whether or not it will work for you.

Re: LS 7deg Locks
Are you asking if you can use the LS locks with the square groove valves ?? I would probably say no since the LS locks are round groove.

I find the LS locks fit the 8mm stems, not the 5/16". That .002"or .003" makes a difference in clamping. Joe-71

I don't think I read the question wrong but, just in case...Walter R. Malik wrote: ↑Sat Jun 27, 2020 9:00 pmIt fits ... I can't say whether or not it will work for you.
That 8mm retainer will fit with traditional 5/16" locks.
You can not use 8mm round groove LS locks with a 5/16" square groove valve.

Re: LS 7deg Locks
When I did an installed height check with the 8mm retainer, and 5/16" radial locks, the locks sat down ~.120" in the retainer, and the valve stem was actually below the retainer, so a no go. Also, the 5/16" locks did not fit inside the 8mm retainer well enough to lock in place. You could open up them by simply pushing on the valve stem with your hand. The interference fit does not lock the valve stem with spring pressure. Joe-71
