Not a blower person. But it would seem like a bigger blower spinning at lower rpms with the bigger rotors would creat less heat in the air intake system.

4-speeds!

I had my brothers A833 out of his '70-1/2, 340, 6-pack Challenger but sold it.

Sucker was cast-iron cased and heavy!

I had recently put syn's in it for him before he got killed.

Strong trans should have kept it if it could be adapted. That is like the 454 4 bolt block i had from a 1970 LS6 chevelle that i kept from 1974 till around 7 years ago that i foolish sold. Would have handled any amount of power i would have wanted. But at the time i was more bucks up wanted to buy a 4.5 bore block that i never did buy and i have far less bucks to use these days. lol

Like my car has a new 496 BBC in it from 2001 or so that I never lit off so tell me about it.

I am torn between a 325" junk301 type engine as well as a 550"+ or so BBC using the 502 block as well as a BLOWER!!

So go figure..

I have the strongest 4 speed trans ever put in a production vehicle in my series 1 55 chevy pickup. Iron case only 10 1/2 inches long 7.05 low gear. In demand by rock crawlers. Lol

SM 420. Used from 1947 to 1967 came in 1/2 ton all the way to 2 ton trucks, also used in busses. Top loader with stick on top. Trans weight 150 lbs, iron case 10.7 inches in length. Irst gear 7.05 not syncro,
Second 3.58, third 1.71, 4th 1.00, reverse 7.05. My trans in the last of the series 1, 55 chevy truck 3600 3/4 ton. Only made the 55 series 1 for 3 months into 55 then it was replaced with the 55 truck that had the car looking front end on it. The SM 420 was replaced with the SM465 in 1968 till its replacement in 1992, was only used in up to 1 ton trucks. Almost as strong slight gearing change and had a syncronized 1rst gear. nothing that can be used in a performance car. Rock crawlers love them for the 7.05 irst and reverse gear there extreme strength and there shifter in the middle of the trans like a jeep uses.

Forgot to mention it has a pto take off on its left side. Another benefit for a winch rock crawlers can use.

I think for $2400.00 brand new the M23 N is strong enough behind any street car. By the time you try to screw around with old transmissions, be money ahead in the long run to buy one.
