It depends on the material.
S7 in the low to mid 50's is a great material for making punches.

What are your valve weights and spring pressures?

Assuming these are lighter pressures than race car stuff, there's some leeway on cam hardness.

I'd also get lifter face hardness tested. That will give you an idea where you need to be on cam hardness

For conventional cast camshafts around 50 HRC is good, harder may run into becoming too brittle.
If it's ductile iron, going harder might be OK. I don't know but... educated guess.
