I wish they would reproduce an upgraded version of the 400 block but it would probably be over priced for what it would be.PackardV8 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 3:02 pmNot going to be at all difficult. GM just put the 350"s back into production. https://www.autotimesnews.com/gm-resume ... 50-engine/350 V8 engines are brand new and have no remanufactured components. In addition, they are covered by a three-year warranty or 160,934 km.

What's the deal with all the idiots in the staging area? Is that how it is now at most of these events? The Luv is kinda cool though.GARY C wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 7:35 pm

At the Grudge events the track owner lets the racers operate like it's a street race because they are running each other for their own money, the track is not putting up a purse so they keep the rules to a minimum, safety and security... these events draw the biggest racer/spectator turn out by far. Racer want to race and fans want to watch.Chris_Hamilton wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 8:00 pmWhat's the deal with all the idiots in the staging area? Is that how it is now at most of these events? THEY do. But "they" is DART.
.230" wall thickness; 4 bolt splayed steel main caps, priority mains oiling, no more head bolt holes going into water jackets, pre-stroker clearanced.
$1,595 retail. Probably cheaper for you.
Is it overpriced for a bare block with unfinished bores? IDK.

Yes I know but more block and money for anything I would build these days, I think I have all the parts I will need for any future projects, now I just need to actually build them.NewbVetteGuy wrote: ↑Wed Aug 26, 2020 3:47 pmTHEY do. But "they" is DART.

67 camaro a tad narrower then a 69 less frontal area. You cant be cheating so you have to go buy a 69 to make this comparison test. Lolpdq67 wrote: ↑Tue Aug 25, 2020 4:58 pm OK!!
My line of thinking is to use a SBC engine to run against Big Red 1 in its early years, say like 800 hp or so.
800hp, 540 BBC vs an 800hp or so SBC engine to save weight. Hell, it might even be a TT 302!!! Or even a 325 built off a 400 block with a 3" crank.

In a race with no rules, why would one handicap the chances with the POS early SBC? At 800hp, it's unlikely to survive a hundred miles.
For very little more money one can buy a NASCAR takeout which makes easily makes the horsepower goal and would be durable.
