Chinese Engine Bearings

If someone asked me if it was okay to use Chinese made engine bearings I would say do not do it.
The problem for me is I am considering buying and using some and want to see if anyone else has had no problems.
The reason for this is two things. My engine is not common and to buy the genuine bearings are $2,900 AUD an 11 weeks wait for delivery.

I struggle with paying that much and I do not have the time to wait 11 weeks. I can get them from China at a much cheaper price and quickly.

So am I a fool to consider using Chinese bearings.

My engine is a Audi V10 5.0L BUH engine model.

Ray.

This response is for ball bearings, a Timken tech rep told me their brand name bearings are all built to the same standards regardless of manufacturing country,.... True?

Where is the engine built?

Not an Audi I know, but aren’t a bunch of the BMW engines built in China?

Would one expect the bearings for them are being shipped from Bavaria, or being manufactured in China?

I guess what I’m saying is....... you can’t automatically assume the parts would have to be substandard coming from there.

They look good, but would prefer to use new bearings.

I think Audi gets this engine made in Hungary as many parts have that printed on them.

If King bearings had a manufacturing plant in China I would not be concerned. I am looking at China Bearing Company brand. No guarantee or QA

G,day,
if it was mine i would re use the old ones.
I have come across many china and other branded bearings from china that fail prematurely.
If i can i use oem, or european or japanese reputable branded bearings or american made timken
Cheers

Perhaps consider having the old bearings coated?
Would save you a ton of cash.

X2 on reusing the old ones and coating if you need to take up a bit of clearance.
Better than rolling the dice on something of unknown quality.

I visited China a couple of times early on. When I asked factory managers why they turned out shoddy product when their labor was so inexpensive (back then). His answer, "It is you Americans doing this. When your buyers come to us, they never ask, 'How good can you make it?' No, every time, you Americans only question is 'How cheap can you make it?'"

there is a few companies in china from the us and else where , they have china factories but place their own guy in it in charge of quality , this sort of system is ok , but these are tied up with a brand , anything not up to spec gets thrown out , but this is where the china company sells them out the bk door for a extra porfit for a [ kinda backhander ] this is where the stuff ends up , best nearly to buy to sets and mathematically [ wrong word ] go through them .

send me soem king or who ever part numbers

the bmw v10 arn't near that price

why risk such a high dollar engine over this
