A pipe or chamber for drone reduction?

Post by sc2dave »

Is it more effective running a chamber or just a pipe? Is there a site that has a program where you can punch in numbers and get the size you need? Also, can you use 1 chamber for 2 headers?

Google Helmholtz exhaust resonator.

The bottom line is this. Do the math for the length/size of the pipe to get you close, then find another pipe that slips over that pipe and attach the two with a muffler clamp. Drive the car and test. Vary the pipe length at the clamp until you achieve your desired result (just like a trombone). Then weld up the two pipes and take off the muffler clamp.
