I am looking for a good machine shop near San Jose. I am looking for not just garden variety stuff, but someone with a dyno, flow bench, and the ability to do things like check lifter bore index.
My go to guy was Robert Cancilla, but he moved and may have gone out of business.
Thanks, Cris

Re: Machine Shops Near San Jose, CA
Check with S&S Automotive in San Leandro, CA.
S&S is owned and operated by Rick Santos, winner of five consecutive NHRA championships in the Top Alcohol Dragster category from 1997-2001, and before then he dominated in the U.S. Nationals (in 1993) usually besting all the Hemis with a little ol' SBC.
(PS: Our shop is in SJ and relocating into a 2500 sq-ft space with flow bench, dyno, CNC cam grinding, etc, but we are not yet fully operational.)

Re: Machine Shops Near San Jose, CA
Paul and Piston Guy, thanks.
I keep forgetting about S&S. I was at their facility a few years back to help a friend dynoing a sbc.
Paul, when do you think your shop will be open? Will you be a full service shop? Engine block machining, head work, porting, etc? Would be nice to have a San Jose shop. (I could not get either of your links to work.)
Regards, Cris

Our website was built over 15 years ago and is not compatible with today's tablets, cell phones, etc. It is being rebuilt & updated, and should be up again sometime soon.
The shop is proving to be a big move and setup will take a bit longer.

Thanks guys. Ron Grose racing looks to have a nice facility. A trip to the central valley to check out machine shops is in my future..... Sad that the Bay Area is down to one full service machine shop. I can get a programmer for my iphone on any street corner, but nobody knows how to index a lifter bore.
