BBC rotating assy question

What is your opinions on BBC externally balanced assy for mostly street use? 489/496 Scat or Eagle, stock block that has been align honed, decked with ARP main studs.

I have done a couple of Eagle ones. I dont see an issue at all for a street engine or even a mild race engine. Just make sure and check everything for size.

I believe either of those can be ordered as an internal balance kit (uses .250” longer rods and larger counterweights on the crank) So I would favour that choice.

If it's a cast external balance aftermarket Crank I would not run it above 6000 rpm for race use!

When we do a cast 6.385 rod Scat 4.250 stroke, I can get it to internal balance on the rear and I can take 330 grams out of the balancer weight leaving about a 100 grams on the balancer. 2120 bob weight.
Racing a NA NHRA stocker should be mandatory before any posting.

To the original question. I see no issues with external on street machines.
It's not like you are dealing with super traction, extreme loading and rpm.
The worst you will do is stomp it, lift and look in the mirror for the po po.
