L29 Vortec 7400 454 aluminum aftermarket 100cc head

Post by mortorq »

Greetings,
Do any of you engine builders know of an factory equivalent-sized aluminum 100cc chamber aftermarket cylinder head to replace the 100cc chamber factory iron gen 6 ‘96-‘00 454 L29 Vortec engine’s heads?
I would like to keep the factory 9:0-1 compression ratio without resorting to changing pistons, & flat milling 20cc’s or so from other available aftermarket heads is excessive & wouldn’t work. Have no desire for getting in to angle milling either. Thank you, appreciate any input.

The only head I can think of as far as a new head goes is the edelbrock 100cc oval port

It's a great head for the price and the performance it provides, but I think I have heard that they tend to run some 5 CCs larger then 100.
You could get like 2CCs back and make better power by installing a bigger Intake valve.
