There is no way I would be messing around with valve springs and shot peening...

If supplied this way by company like PSI that's different.

Just in case it wasn't obvious; that means pressure at the nozzle, not the air compressor tank.
Depending on the plumbing that delta can be very large.

I had connecting rods done at Precision Finishing Inc. in Sellersville Pa about 25 years ago. They have a nice website describing the shot, and screen sizes. They blasted the rods for 5 minutes with S 230 shot, amp 18 and was .012-.015-A and they made 2 test strips. I am assuming amp18 is the screen size.
