BUKH diesel engine

Post by gn69z28 »

Anyone here have any experience working on these engines? I need info on how to put the springs back for the injector pump camshaft. BTW it's the DV20 engine.

Yes I do but it says nothing about how to put the springs in. It just shows a picture of them. They are installed under the counter weights where you can't get to them. I know there has to be a trick to this. Page 158 and page 160 show the springs but no information on how to put them in.

Can you talk to an injector shop??
They should be able to tell you are at least do a single injector then you copy that to the others. :D

It's not the injectors. The springs are on the counter weights of the cam the injectors ride on. The counter weights change the injector timing to match rpm's. It's like variable cam timing on today's modern engines but done with counter weights and springs.

I see your dilemma.

Seems like they should have holes drilled in the ring gear so you could assemble the weights and springs into the gear using drill rods and then line up and ease in to place the driving piece #4.
