Figuring your ET without the track
I have been watching the TV street racers make passes and then come back and look at there smart phone and it tells then 60 ft, Et And mph at 660 ft. OK tell me how dumb I am. How do they do this?
Re: Figuring your ET without the track
With an app. On their phone. Works off gps. Go to your store and search drag race timer app.
Why is the least trained, lowest paid tech working on the most important part of your car, THE BRAKES ! I know I work next to him.

I play with the one 77cruiser posted. But there are many.

Dragy and the app. Make sure to tape it down if there's no steel nearby, as it'll roll off the dash and under the seat.

Re: Figuring your ET without the track
ive seen a few video's where people used the dragy, and they are amazingly close to what the track timers say.
Re: Figuring your ET without the track
Tested it out with a friend's car at the dragstrip. It said 12.18 and he ran 12.05. That little bit could be the app not accounting for the rollout of the beams. Pretty darn accurate if you ask me.
Re: Figuring your ET without the track
Most likely, the error is due to the inaccuracy of the phone's GPS. Depending on the phone, and where you are, the GPS location can off a few feet, to 50+ feet.

My app works off the g force sensor. Quite accurate, gives all kinds of data, including road speed vs horsepower

Anybody use the G-Tech system anymore?
I used one way back before smartphones. It used acceleration sensors. Their latest model uses GPS and acceleration sensors. I wonder if the smart phone apps have done them out.

I used the Vericom VC200 .. Its very revealing ..
You can burn up lots of tires and gas testing to see what works and what does not.
Still got it . Haven't used in a while.
Re: Figuring your ET without the track
Interesting... but requires a car that can actually hook up when not at the track.
Re: Figuring your ET without the track
We used the VC in my street racing days as well.
Racing a NA NHRA stocker should be mandatory before any posting.
