Do you mean how fast, or how quick?
Top speed or ET?

Assuming you have stock Sportsman II heads , you will need better heads or do some porting on the ones you have If you want to run 10s .

I agree. Should be able to run low to mid 11’s at around 120 mph

The Sportsman II heads are quite good once correctly ported.. If you want to go fast, do that.
Big power difference vs out of the box as cast and v-job.
This Chevelle will likely run best with a bit more gear than 4.11.. (4.30-4.56 ish) Definatly a full race 8-3/4 9" converter (5000+ stall) if you want a 10 sec Chevelle.
Don't skimp out on these to get that Chevelle motivated.

Just for comparison as my 3650 pound streeter had same converter, rear gear, same size headers and mufflers but 383 SBC as cast Dart 215
Heads and running a 255 drag radial.
60 ft-1.81
330ft-4.86
660ft-7.39 @ 97.57mph
1000ft-9.58
1320ft - 11.4s @ 121.54mph

Changed converter only weather similar one week later custom 8" converter 5600 stall
60 ft - 1.52
330 - 4.53
660 - 7.05 @ 97.16mph
1000 - 9.23
1320 - 11.10 @ 120.65mph
7000rpm shift and finish line 6300-6500rpm
I have done a couple of sportsman 2 heads,
You can get 290 cfm at around 210cc
The exhaust port is poor and needs a lot of work but can work great.
I think mid 11s pretty easy

Shows you how critical getting the torque converter dialed in is..
For this engine/car purpose, if you can find a better
solid FT camshaft than either Isky 201547 or 201549 that gets you down the track better, I'd like to know about it..
Better sft cam in car on track at any price.

Low to mid 12’s as it sits dependent on track elevation.

If it doesn't run 11s as it sits, something is seriously wrong.

My pump gas 358 SBC with 200cc World heads went 11.29 this year in so-so air. You will need more stall speed to get the real good ET out of the car, more like a 5200 stall.
