For some reason, I just don't get the WOW factor from this? What 465 in making 1053Hp? Now don't get me wrong, that is making some jam, but in todays world where that size engine can usually go 1150+ and some would tickle over 1200Hp (Like the URE 450 SC1 that went 1180+ what 5/6+ yrs ago).
So this deal, made 2.26Hp/inch. YEARS ago I help with a OEM Cleveland blocked, Moldex nodular crank 356 inch Cleveland, ported 4 BBl heads and CAST Weiand TR with 2 750 BG's on it that would get ALMOST 800, 798 I believe was the best. That OEM headed deal back in the yearly '90's did 2.23Hp/inch. We never dyno'ed the motor when we switched to the C302B heads, but picked up 2 tenths in the 1/4. Car was IHRA B/D record holder for 5+ yrs. Don't even recall when we lost the 7.40 record.
With todays tech, I know there was a TON left there from a couple of 30 yr old guys with a back-yard built 356. YES It is easier to get power in the small motor.
The URE engine is next level high end deal 9,000+rpm..........that's what you get with best engine builders. I would love to see what he could do with these heads.
The WOW factor is this can be built by the backyard engine builder using "OUT OF THE BOX" heads.......would make a great bracket engine.
They only flow 435cfm!!.........that's what makes this engine impressive.
At $3,700 bare heads and intake that's good "bang for buck" IMO........compared to the sc1 heads.

"Quality" is like buying oats. You can pay a fair price for it and get some good quality oats,
or you can get it a hell of a lot cheaper, when it's already been through the horse.

I guess you missed the part where us BACKYARD engine builders did the 356 inch Cleveland that made 798Hp with OEM block and FORD cast 4bbl OEM heads! Back in the early '90's.
Like I said, it's making power, but out of 465 inch I would almost expect that out of any serious engine today. Maybe I'm just spoiled knowing who and what I know? When your typical under 360 inch Hot Street motor made 900+ back 15 yrs ago? With an unwelded or cut apart cast single and inline heads. 1000Hp seems well within reach with a good effort engine of that size. NOT easy but a well thought out plan and some guidance will get you there.

Who's 360 inch Hot Street engine made over 900 HP? I believe Hanlon was the only guy doing that combination back 20 years ago but who else?

Butch Kemp, 358 BES. He got the motor from Rick Moroso. Was almost 920 om last go around that Konigshofer did. Also Mike Konigshofer s own motor as right there too with his in-line headed 360.

No Pro Stock, just a young Canadian guy with some talent. B/Dragster motor we did have port plates on the exhaust. There was an even better head out on a Cleveland Foxbody from town too. RPM's were up there, 8500 or so? Maybe 9000 on some.

No these were NOT NMCA Ultra Street motors! These were back in 2005 & 2006. They were Hot Street motor that ran Milan (Detroit) ALL MOTOR and in Ontario Canada, OSCA Pro Stock All Motor class. Butch had this 360 in his Chevy II before the 420 that he crashed the car in 2009!
