Hi all, I have 3cyl Yamaha 998 turbo snowmobile crank and assembly that needs balanced for cp pistons and rods.
Anyone have experience with these cranks? I’m curious on reciprocating %. That have a counter balance shaft in the engine as well.
Thanks

Silver_notch138 , I have a Hines balance specification program and it specifies 3 cyl Yamaha engines to use 50% recip and 100% rotating values. There is no reference to balance shaft engines. Not sure if this number is still valid. PHONE: (734) 769-2300.
I don't have any experiance with balancing a ( Turbo assembly ) but I figure the piston weight may be lighter than the actual weight because of turbo/blower psi pressure on the piston, better call them and ask their recommendation with the turbo, please post their reply if you can.

I just balanced the same set up as you.
I used 50%
I had to add weight 15grams front and rear
Carrillo rods. CP pistons.
I didn't have the stock components to weigh

Ok good to know. That the same components as this one. Unfortunately now that I’m into it my bob weights won’t go light enough to do it. I have a cwt machine.

I have a set of small narrow bob weights that worked

I have a smaller narrower set that worked on my machine.
