Hi guys.
Can anyone tell me what these markings mean on these rods?

Well have you given the Rods center to center a quick check as that may shed some light on things?

Yes I have.
I am replacing these rods with a new 6.000in set and I am having issues.
I would like to know if anyone can confirm what -1.5L means, without me quoting what I am measuring.

They where bought as a part of a 434 sbc engine kit.

Re: 6.000I-1.5L"
lighter rotating assembly is a common goal when building race motors.
Has become quite common for large US V8 Race motors to have cranks ground with honda-size rod journals; many rod makers offer rods for just that purpose. Does your 434's crank have such rod journals ?

Re: 6.000I-1.5L"
well then, have you also taken your caliper to this rod bearing's ID ? Sbc is 2" & up. Honda's less than 2"

The bearing bore diameter is the same.
I have fitted both rods in my engine without issues other than what I am trying to determine if could be related to the marking.
The rods fit standard SBC bearings.
I have nowhere found any info on what these markings stand for.
The suggestion them being Honda rods are plausible, but the rod bolts share the same spacing as other sbc rods here.

Exactly what problem are you having ? I wonder if the 1.5 has something to do with how much they are clearanced to clear the camshaft ? Do you have any idea whos rods they are ?

The problem I am having is that I bought 6" replacements for these, and the replacements are about 1mm longer.
Five of the rods in this strangely marked set are kinked, but my best rods all measure the same, about 1mm shorter than what I was to replace them with.
They came milled for cam clearance as a part of a stroker kit.

Re: 6.000I-1.5L"
Not sure Stan..
I can compare them side by side and when installed but need better equipment for a number like that.
I'll see what I can come up with this weekend.

Re: 6.000I-1.5L"
Maybe the 6.00L-1.5 is the length they are short??
The 1.5 being the shorter amount maybe??
What brand of rods are they anyways??? That may give a clue as to the markings.
