Profiler valve guides

Post by bthomas »

Just got the call from machine shop that my heads have a few bad exhaust valve guides.
Has anyone else run into issues with these? I know the brodix ik series was/is known for premature wear, but afaik profiler was good to go as is.
Just curious if there is some upgrade I should be doing, or?

The exhaust guides need a lil bit more clearance.

One head had 3 ex guides 6-6.5 thou clearance. Said he likes to see no more than 2.5 on exhaust

I’m guessing poor rockers geometry killed these?

I already ordered up new valves, but just now getting them machined down to get the cc’s I wanted.

Get yourself a set of split guide plates.
