2rz sleeve boring

Post by Jbird988 »

I have a 2rz that needs to be sleeved in all 4 cylinders. Using 3/32 wall sleeves is it safe to go .040 over on them? I have installed some Sleeves before but left them at stock bore but how thin is to thin when boring them? Thanks

How thick will the sleeve be after you bore it .040 " The 3/32 really doesnt mean anything without knowing the od of the sleeve.

The thinnest I've ever gone with is 1/16 wall. Give it slightly more press fit than usual.

3.925 is the OD. After boring the 3/32 will leave me .05375

j,
If I am looking at the correct engine the standard bore is 95mm or 3.740 If you bore it .040 the bore will be 3.780 which will actually give you .0725 wall thickness when you are done. That should be fine.
