I am not familiar with your terminology, what is that relating to about or in the heads?

use a thin piece of thin metal with a .080 slit in it and tig it to the wire!

I just had to remove a set a week ago.
After trying to fuse a section of filler rod to the hoops, I ended up just building up a ball of weld about .080 tall on each hoop. Pinched them with vise-grips, and wiggled them up and partially out of the groove. Use a thin gasket scraper to help finish prying them upwards as you go around.
The hoops actually came out a lot easier than I had anticipated.
