Chevrolet has more wins at the Indy 500 than Ford or Cosworth.

The reason that Offy had a lot of DNF's was because the majority of entries had Offy engines.
Well, that's a good point, more Offy's, more Offy parts blown up :)

The last Chev, that I saw was Smokey's carbed, SBC turbo. The others are badge Ilmors engines!!!

Gosh, next you'll be saying Mercedes-Benz never won Indy.

And what about the Cosworth's that were simply called Ford's after Ford bought the rights in 1995?

For your information, the Cosworth DFV, became the Cosworth DFX engine and both had their beginnings based on the English Ford, 109E 1500cc, 4 cyl engine. First with the Lotus Twin cam (Cosworth designed head), then the F1 DFV V8, then the 109E based FVA 4 cyl, later to become the BDA.

All Ford Indy engines, had a direct connection to Ford, including the Cosworth!

Ilmor and Cosworth are probably the most successful engine builders of all time.

Sorry Jack but, if Ilmor designed and built it, it's a Ilmor, to me, no matter what badge it might have on the vale cover.

The Fords which became the Foyts were a different engine altogether.

Yes, the Ford/Foyt's are based on the Ford 4 cam Indy engine, that was based on the SBF.
