There would have to be some hidden lead plates, .and quite a few of them for a 1st generation Camaro to weight that.

Those diy subframe connectors were overkill, deff longer than needed and thicker. Don't forget the patches over patches, I'm sure a few gallons of bondo were used and idk what gauge they used to patch the floor but it was thick and prob free. Full cast iron SBC except the vic jr intake, sportsman II heads are heaver than factory, copper radiator, four wheel drums, got a deal on some super stocker springs that had several leafs more than factory.

Stuff adds up but this is the internet and I could have a photo with 20 people standing next to the car on a scale and all 20 posted here BUT still someone would say nuh-uh LOL

My 71 C20 With a stock 402 weighed 4800. My 79 Impala 2 door is 4200 without driver. Those were the down sized B bodies. My 84 El Camino is nearly 1000 lb less. My 78 Skylark X body, (Nova etc.) started out at 3600 without driver, but my 79 Lemans A body weighed that with two 200 lb people in the car. My wife's 18 Sienna weighs 4300. The Sienna is a very fast car for a 3500 V6 and that weight. That power train might be lots of fun in something 1000 lb lighter.

My Nova weighs 3600 lbs. no driver. BBC steel heads. full interior. All steel including hood-6 pt. bar 10 gals. fuel. I can run 6.90 1/8th 100 mph. I do not know why it weighs that much. I also do not know the HP either. I see a lot of Novas only 3200 lb. I am not good at guessing weight of cars.

What year Nova? The 1st series were pretty light. In 1973 the 5 mph bumper added plenty of weight. I took the iron guts out of my 78 Skylark and dropped 122 lbs. Changing to manual steering removed another 30 lbs.

Stuff I've had across the scale, to the best of my memory:
  • 1992 K1500 WT - Regular cab, long box, 4.3L V6, auto, 4x4. No driver, about 4400 lbs.
  • 1992 C2500 - Regular cab, long box, 350, auto, 2wd. No driver, about 5000-5050 lbs.
  • 2001 Jeep TJ - Basically stock, 180 lb driver, 4000 lbs on the nose.
  • 2012 GMC Terrain - AWD, 4 cyl - 200 lb driver (I've gotten fatter), ~4400 lbs.
I was surprised how much heavier my current C2500 is than my old K1500. Guess the thicker frame, 14 bolt rear end, 4L80E (vs 4L60E), big ass drums, etc all add up.

Haven't weighed my current Buick Regal TourX (awd wagon), but should be maybe 3800 lbs. Didn't think it was too bad, large car with much more storage, power, and better aero than the Terrain it replaced.

During the Watts riots in 1965 I was repossessing cars and the afore mentioned 59 Pontiacs were the worst to push because of those wanna-be fins, if you slipped you were pretty much guaranteed some separated ribs or blood coming from your face. Plus that was the ugliest car GM ever made and I didn't want anyone to think it was mine.
