Vehicle weight

Post by travis »

I just took my daily driver across the scales this morning and was kind of shocked at how heavy this thing is, especially for not even being a real truck. It’s a 2014 Honda Ridge Line AWD, 3.5L V-6 auto. 4720 pounds with my 220 pound butt in it.

I’m curious to see what others rides weigh.

Far as performance vehicles, stuff adds up fast and why I try to take it off were I can because I know that I'll add it back someplace. I've herd of many tubbed up cars back in the day being 4k+

My 2009 Silverado 4.3 regular box with me(no comment LOL) 4700+ if I rem right, 1/4 tank maybe

My old 68 camaro no rollcage, not tubbed, sbc, lots of junk removed, fiberglass pin on hood and patches over rusty patches but no rockers LOL with some diy sub frame connectors that who know put on it. 4100 ish with out anyone in it.

I know as much as I can learn and try to keep an open mind to anything!

If I didn't overthink stuff I wouldn't be on speedtalk!

Old circle track racer with scales, so I just HAD to do this today. Weights are sans driver and didn't check the fuel level on all of them.

Volvo V70 wagon, 3916 lbs. I was expecting this tank to be a LOT heavier. I guess it's just well built.

Lexus ES300, 3462 lbs. I was expecting lighter, but it's my hooptie commuter car with lots of crap inside (tools, small air compressor, jumper cables, extra clothes and jackets, etc.).

Porsche 996 GT2, 3271 lbs, but it could be lighter. There's a battery charger and car cover inside. Rear weight is 62%, so that's good. I guess Porsche was figuring on circle track racing because left side weight is 51.6% (no driver).

Porsche 930, sunroof delete and no A/C, 2558 lbs. Again, right about 62% rear weight. Gas tank was almost empty, which really skews the results as fuel capacity is 22 gallons or so.

That Honda is heavy.
Wife's first Honda was a 1974 civic. You could pick up on the rear fender and have someone take the rear tire off and stick the good one on.
12" rims and that is not the width. I think they were about 1500 lbs

My 1994 Dodge truck 3/4 ton with 360" was 4200 lbs I thought that was light for a 3/4 ton truck.

My 1947 Dodge with 350" all iron chevy and TH350 with 9" Ford is 3176 and that is with heater and sound deadening and a stereo system.
Delete that stuff and it was 3030 lbs.

I was wishing it would come in at 2,400 when I built it.
Next round the 1947 is going on a diet.

There would have to be some hidden lead plates, .and quite a few of them for a 1st generation Camaro to weight that.
