Those diy subframe connectors were overkill, deff longer than needed and thicker. Don't forget the patches over patches, I'm sure a few gallons of bondo were used and idk what gauge they used to patch the floor but it was thick and prob free. Full cast iron SBC except the vic jr intake, sportsman II heads are heaver than factory, copper radiator, four wheel drums, got a deal on some super stocker springs that had several leafs more than factory.
Don't even assplaine some how people think different. My Vega in 1984 with the cage was 2950 without my 130 back then......BOOT wrote: ↑Mon Jun 21, 2021 3:50 pmThose diy subframe connectors were overkill, deff longer than needed and thicker. Stuff adds up but this is the internet and I could have a photo with 20 people standing next to the car on a scale and all 20 posted here BUT still someone would say nuh-uh LOL
What year Nova? The 1st series were pretty light. In 1973 the 5 mph bumper added plenty of weight. I took the iron guts out of my 78 Skylark and dropped 122 lbs. Changing to manual steering removed another 30 lbs.econo racer wrote: ↑Tue Jun 22, 2021 3:52 am My Nova weighs 3600 lbs. no driver. BBC steel heads. full interior. All steel including hood-6 pt. bar 10 gals. fuel. I can run 6.90 1/8th 100 mph. I do not know why it weighs that much. I also do not know the HP either. I see a lot of Novas only 3200 lb. I am not good at guessing weight of cars.
Mopar 8 3/4 with a Shure grip in mine also but a 12 point cage and 25 gallons of fuel.
During the Watts riots in 1965 I was repossessing cars and the afore mentioned 59 Pontiacs were the worst to push because of those wanna-be fins, if you slipped you were pretty much guaranteed some separated ribs or blood coming from your face. Plus that was the ugliest car GM ever made and I didn't want anyone to think it was mine.Dirtybob wrote: ↑Wed Jun 23, 2021 9:07 pm all without driver
