Pertronix Digital HP ignition box any good?

Went to a Pertronix Second Strike after my MSD analog box failed intermittently years ago, has been flawless for years. Recently purchased a Digital HP box with matching coil for another project, we will see this spring.

NOS are available for about $1k, so instead, guys are shoe horning the Pertronix into the stock rev limiter housing.

I had a bad experience with one of those Pertronix rev limiters. Didn't last more that 500 miles, and developed some kind of short or something that caused severe misfires. Disconnected limiter and the issues went away (and this was just a delco HEI module ignition, nothing exotic).
