70's era heads on a 1990 TBI block

Will a set of 70's double hump heads bolt on and work on a 1990 SBC short block? I'm planning on getting the Edelbrock ProFlo 4 system which is not made for the 1990 TBI heads and I happen to have a set of double hump heads laying around.

You can redrill the 4 center bolt holes on the TBI heads too. Or depending on the way the Pro Flo manifold is made you can just "modify" the 4 center holes a little and bolt it up also. Edelbrock used to sell little angled spacer washers to go under the four bolts to match the angles. I just looked at a picture of the manifold and it looks like there is plenty of room. I have done that several times over the years with aluminum manifolds and even one cast iron one on my own 85 Blazer.

The better and bigger port volume dubble hump heads do not have all the later common accessory bolt holes so check things out close first!

I know you have them- but why not move forward 40 years, that's where the power is, modern heads and cam.

Without the bolt pattern debate, the high swirl tbi heads STALL at a particular point but work well until that point, they are very demand limited. As mentioned, the vortec style heads are much better as well as most aftermarket. It's ALL about how DEEP they fill the cylinder.
