Another carb question

Post by af2 »

I just ordered 2 avs 500 carbs and didn't think if the metering kits will work from the carters I have. On a 355 Edelbrock XC8 Hopefully they are the same.

The jets and rods are the same as Carters, just the numbering system is different is what I was told.

being Edelbrock AVS carbs yes the metering rods should interchange, the original AVS carter carbs had three steps on the metering rod, and will fit in the AFB as well.

As stated same, but numbering is different.
I had a Carter Kit and bought a Edelbrock to find out...

While the AFB Carter & Edel rods physically interchange, I noticed the E rods have a muuuch larger difference between the power step & cruise step, compared to Carter rods.
