Re: Air Die Grinder Tricks
I use air die grinders and made an adjustable slowness using a painting regulator w/gauge to vary speed and a valve to use it or not. Leave long lever main line off and open small lever to get slowness, when finished turn it off and open large full pressure valve.

how well do those regulators work ?
Does the Grinder RPM spike up real hi RPM when you first start the Grinder , or is air pressure controlled instantly ??
Also , as you are Porting , is Grinder RPM and Power steady enough ???
Any "pros and cons" review you have on these regulators ??

Re: Air Die Grinder Tricks
I like them for what I do. Its nice to have the air control attached to the grinder. I grind-port heads and do block detailing. Once you find the air speed you like, the cheap regulator pretty much stays put. I have had a few loosen up. And what I mean is the air control dial will move a little and lower the grinder speed. I never had one spike up, its always been down. I start at a low air speed and work my way up when I'm using a 6 to 10" cartridge roll mandrels. So far its been good to me.maxracesoftware wrote: ↑Thu Sep 23, 2021 10:08 pmRon,Ron Miller wrote: ↑Wed Sep 22, 2021 5:03 pm I use this for a cheap way to reduce the air speed. I have both the small inline & the pressure regulator with gauge. Didn't have much luck with the inline [always backing off] but the regulator is nice. I have it set to the pressure that works best for the tools I use most & the others I can fine tune with the regulator built into the air grinder.

Since it was also brought up this thread, figured I should post the two spd controller vid here as well https://youtu.be/QsF8s8K916g
