Re: All out performance bbc
Titanium rods would be on my list. Reduced pin od as well. Get the rotating assembly as light as possible. Custom oil pan, as big "think wide" as possible. Piston guided rods would be a must too. 1 mm ring pack helps a little from where you ate at too.

Re: All out performance bbc
why are guys not a fan of gapless? just curious.
i was hoping doing a .9mm. with low tension oil ringgs. ifff they will last 2-300 passes. and wont need a vaccume pump.
my 043 ring pack has been amazing for longvevity. i am 5 years old on this bottom end. still 2% leak down numbers.
maybe i should call total seal and pick there brains.

If NASCAR CUP engines don't have gapless piston rings.....why worry about using them ?? Mark H.
Re: All out performance bbc
I have had no luck with gapless. My theory is the rings are not free under pressure. If the piston is tipped to the left on the way up and tilted right on the way down, there must be a moment under pressure that the rings get compressed to their smallest point during the rock over.

Re: All out performance bbc
“Stock” cars find some of their performance by running the engine in the upper range and beyond from start to finish, and gearing the car to maximize ET reduction in the first 330’ of the run, accepting that the engine is hanging it’s tongue out for a good portion of the pass.
If your heads are that good as you claim, and you want the quickest ETs, you should be spinning your engine WAYYY more than you are, like 8500+. You need to be thinking like Pro Stock/Competition Eliminator/ SS/AH.

Re: All out performance bbc
i would agree with your statment. the more i over rev this thing the faster is goes. im not saying my heads or intake could use more work. but im too the point where i really wanna maximize weight and friction. turn this thing too about 8000 rpm or so.
5,10,15 hp i will take it.

Can you share details on your heads and manifold? and what the rules are re heads and manifolds.

842 heads. flow. 340/255 @.600
intake manifold is stock with divider removed.

That is what you have. The group wants to know what are the rules. There is a reason.evilbanshee wrote: ↑Thu Oct 07, 2021 9:17 am 842 heads. flow. 340/255 @.600

Re: All out performance bbc
stock manifold with the divider removed sounds like some of the limited pulling truck engines I have messed with. For sure if you want best info for a combination, please give the rules. IF you just say all out performance then that equals maximum HP no rules no parameters.

Re: All out performance bbc
well i need her too go faster.
so if theres a ring pack out there that will make me more power i am ready
factory heads and intake must be used. 440ci max. 13.5:1 max compression. cam lift is .650 at the valve.
they dont check bottom end in tech. so i can run whatever rotating assembly i want.
i was thinking a 6.535” rod with a .9mm ring pack. low tension oil.
vs my 043 standard tension oil. 6.385” h beam.
i dont want too say what i am running for a class. incase my competition is looking here.

Re: All out performance bbc
not to get you off topic then, but while there is some power in the bottom end, it may be time to look into the drivetrain. gun drilled axles, carbon fiber driveshaft, light weight brakes, etc.

Yep, even stuff like reducing toe in on the wheel alignment, reducing preload on wheel bearings & running thinner bearing lube, making sure brake pads are not dragging at all.
Setting up pinion angle for min power loss, lower friction diff & trans Lube.
Keeping air out from under the car & reducing air drag on drive train.
Taping over body seams, flush fitting windows.
Many ways to cut parasitic losses outside the engine.
